Find your passion

In late September I started a job tutoring second and third graders in a local school. I have really enjoyed it. This is the first time in my life I can say I tutor small groups of kids all day. It used to only be part of the day. I have my job I started, then I tutor with an after school program called Inner Circle (http://innercirclefoundation.org/), and I tutor several nights a week through Acts 2:42 Ministries. I am blessed that God has allowed me jobs that I enjoy and am passionate about. Hopefully, God has allowed you to discover your passion and ways to tap into it every day. It took me a while to figure it out. A lot of trying different things that I wasn’t good at (i.e. Kirb

Rule breaker

I am a “dot your i’s and cross your t’s” type of person. I like knowing the rules and following them the best I can. This can be great for some things like accounting J However, when it comes to my relationship with God it can be stifling. Matthew 19:16-22 comes to mind. A rich young ruler comes to Jesus saying he is following the rules. However, Jesus cuts right through this and sees what the man is missing. The rich young ruler had stifled his relationship with God with his rule following. I have a more personal example with Acts 2:42 Ministries. For years I lived in the park and prayed for people. However, I really didn’t get involved in their lives. I didn’t really see it as a

Nothing wasted

Funny how things come around. From 8th to 10th grade I took Spanish. Never thinking I would see this again, I was glad when those three years were over. However, relearning Spanish to reach those in Acts 2:42 Ministries has brought my Spanish learning full circle. Just goes to show God leaves nothing to waste to reach those right around us.

A Simple Invite

I am excited for the annual Fall Fest at Calvary Assembly of God (www.calvaryohio.org/). I invited several people that Acts 2:42 Ministries teaches English to. While I am not sure who will attend, it has led to some conversations about what I believe. The language barrier doesn’t allow for an in-depth conversation. However, it is encouraging to see how taking a few minutes to invite someone opens the door for God to work.
