The Power of a Question

Over the past few weeks I have had some difficult situations to deal with. This has involved speaking with people. My tendency is to just say what I am thinking and expect the person to listen. However, I am learning to slow down and ask questions first. Jesus was masterful at this. He could have just told people how things are but instead used the power of a question to get at the root of the issue. This reminds me to slow down and ask questions first. This allows the other person to share and a greater level of understanding can be achieved. As I reach out to those living in the same park as Acts 2:42 Ministries. I need to ask questions and listen to where people are coming from. They can see that I care which allows me greater opportunities to share Jesus with them. It is difficult to be patient and ask questions, but it is a powerful tool that Jesus modeled.
